Overview
Abu Abeer run live entertainment events and game shows, and needed a word-guessing game that could be driven by a host in front of an audience. Players guess hidden Arabic words on a signature board of four rows with 10, 12, 12 and 10 cells.
We built four game modes to keep formats fresh: Classic, where the host reveals letters one by one; Reverse, where letters start revealed and are hidden over time; Challenge, with timed rounds; and Free mode for casual play. Content is organised into six episodes per season, so a show can be prepared in advance and switched between live.
A dedicated display page connects to the admin panel over Server-Sent Events, so any screen or projector shows the board update the instant the host acts. Board state, scores and episode progress persist in PostgreSQL through Prisma, surviving refreshes and reconnects under event conditions.
Four game modes
Classic letter-by-letter reveal, Reverse with gradual hiding, timed Challenge rounds and casual Free play. Each mode changes the dynamic for a different event format.
Real-time display sync
Server-Sent Events stream every board change to a dedicated display page. Connect any screen or projector and the game board stays live during the show.
Full admin control
The host runs everything from one dashboard: reveal or hide individual letters, switch modes, control scoring and manage episode content across six seasonal episodes.
Arabic-first, event-ready
Right-to-left layout and Arabic typography throughout, with instant response times, graceful reconnection if the stream drops and controls designed for quick operation under pressure.
Screens
The main game board: four rows of 10, 12, 12 and 10 cells, each individually controllable.
Abu Abeer branding carried through the show interface.
